Campione is an isolated Italian enclave surrounded by Swiss territory and Lake Maggiore. Letters outside the Commune had to be sent via Switzerland, and towards the end of the Second World War they issued their own stamps denominated in Swiss currency.


First Issue

On 20th May 1944 the first printing was issued. This was followed by a second printing issued on 28th June 1944. The first printing has large perforation holes and is Perf 11½, while the second has smaller perforation holes and is Perf 11.
